Timothy A. Forshey
Tim is a seasoned family law, personal injury, criminal defense (with an emphasis on self-defense), estate planning and firearms law attorney, dedicated to zealously protecting his clients' rights through every ethical means available. He offers a personal touch — managing clients' legal needs while giving them the honest counsel they need to hear, not just what they want to hear.
Tim holds a B.A. in Biology (Illinois Wesleyan University), an M.S. in Forensic Biology (Northeast Missouri State University), and a Juris Doctorate (University of Illinois). A four-year college football defensive lineman, "defense" has stayed central to his life ever since. He prosecuted cases in central Illinois before relocating to Arizona, where he founded his own Phoenix firm in 1995 — now over 30 years strong. He also served as a pro tem Judge in Scottsdale City Court, presiding over roughly two dozen jury trials.
With over 36 years of experience, Tim is a member in good standing of the State Bars of Arizona, Colorado, and Illinois, and has been featured in Time, Money, Phoenix, Guns, and Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement. Beyond representing clients in self-defense cases, he frequently serves as an expert witness on the subject. A tireless advocate for "the little guy," Tim is also the Deputy State Training Director for the Arizona Rangers, an NRA-certified instructor since 1996, and lead concealed carry instructor at Scottsdale Gun Club since 2002. He also competes in shooting competitions at an elite level — A Class (USPSA), Expert Class (IDPA), and Master Class (GSSF) — with numerous state and national titles to his name.
Tim has been married over 30 years to his wife Shannon, a Phoenix pediatrician. They have triplet daughters, recent honors graduates — earning Tim’s family’s nickname "Tim and the Four Shes."
